Position Overview
Maersk, a global leader in container logistics, is seeking a Software Engineer – Python Developer to join their dynamic team in Bangalore. This role involves developing and maintaining Python-based applications and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance business operations. The successful candidate will work on projects related to automation, data analysis, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain Python applications and scripts to support business processes.
- Collaborate with teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business analysts, to gather and implement requirements.
- Design and manage data pipelines, processing tools, and analysis frameworks using Python.
- Optimize and maintain existing Python code for better performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and end-user issues.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in Python development.
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to establishing coding standards.
- Work on automation, data analysis, and process improvement projects.
Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python and popular libraries/frameworks such as Django, Flask, Pandas, NumPy, etc.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases; ability to write efficient database queries.
- Understanding of RESTful API design and development.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization/orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git), unit testing, and continuous integration.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to dynamic work environments and collaborate across functional teams.
