Job Overview –Hardware Engineer Intern
IBM Systems division builds servers, storage, and systems software that power enterprise IT infrastructure and hybrid multi-cloud environments.
The India Systems Development Lab (ISDL), headquartered in Bengaluru, works across processor development, firmware, operating systems, storage software, cloud software, performance engineering, and system testing.
The Enterprise Systems Development team in Bangalore provides internship opportunities in the design and development of processors for IBM Mainframe (IBM Z Systems) and IBM Power Systems.

Key Responsibilities
Work on development of latest generation processors powering IBM Z Systems and IBM Power Systems
Contribute to Design, Verification, Pre-Silicon Validation, Physical Design, EDA, Library and Memory characterization
Participate in Post-Silicon validation of processor chips
Work on advanced semiconductor technologies (5nm, 3nm & beyond)
Contribute to processor core development, logic design, analog circuits, custom layout
Support algorithm development for processor architecture validation and performance debugging

Qualification, Skills and Experience Requirements
Required Education:
Master’s Degree
Academics:
Master’s Degree in VLSI Design / Electronics / Computer Science Engineering or relevant hardware specialization
Required Technical Expertise:
Digital Logic Design
Computer Architecture
RISC-V or other processor pipeline knowledge
VLSI design flow and process knowledge
Preferred Technical Skills:
Programming and scripting skills (Python / Perl)
