Your Role and Responsibilities
Every client implementation is unique, offering you a constantly evolving challenge. As a Technical Support Professional Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience solving real-world technical issues for some of the world’s largest corporations.

Responsibilities of a Support Engineer
As part of the IBM Software Support team, your internship role will include:
Providing technical support for issues reported by IBM Software customers.
Troubleshooting and analyzing issues, including direct customer calls when needed.
Managing customer expectations and relationships.
Setting up test scenarios to replicate and resolve problems.
Writing knowledge base articles documenting issues and solutions.
Escalating defects to IBM’s internal development teams and managing communication.
Supporting production-down systems (on rotation) during critical incidents.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Proficiency in Core Java / JEE or any programming language.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to deliver solutions under pressure in customer-facing scenarios.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts (including weekends).
Quick learner, able to pick up new product skills (on-premises and cloud).
Ability to research, analyze, and apply technical documentation.
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Team-oriented, with sound judgment and decision-making ability.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Troubleshooting skills in Java code, logs, and database systems (DB2, Oracle).
- Experience with JMS and IBM MQ troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Containers (Docker) and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of RedHat OpenShift or AWS.
- Ability to troubleshoot JSON and XML.
- Exposure to Application Servers: WebSphere Liberty, Tomcat, Messaging services like Apache Kafka and ActiveMQ.
- Database knowledge in IBM DB2, Oracle, Cassandra, MongoDB, with strong SQL querying skills.
- Basic understanding of networking protocols.
